Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe & Lake Victoria Sunset
Land at Entebbe and transfer to a boutique lakeside hotel on the shores of Lake Victoria. A glass of Ugandan wine awaits on your room's veranda as the sun sets over Africa's great lake. Your guide briefs you over dinner on the spectacular week ahead.
Day 2: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Drive west through Uganda's verdant interior, past the Fort Portal crater lakes and the sweeping Mpanga tea estates. Arrive at your forest lodge by early afternoon. An optional afternoon birding walk around the lodge grounds reveals jewel-bright turacos and hornbills, setting the mood for tomorrow's primate immersion.
Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking & Bigodi Wetland
Report to Kanyanchu Visitor Centre for your morning chimpanzee tracking permit. Trail through the dense canopy forest with your ranger, listening for the whoops and crashes that betray a chimp community on the move. Spend one hour observing these remarkably human relatives. In the afternoon, paddle and walk the Bigodi Wetland boardwalk—a community conservation gem alive with red colobus monkeys and papyrus-specialist birds.
Day 4: Queen Elizabeth NP — Game Drive & Sunset Cruise
Drive south to Queen Elizabeth National Park. A morning game drive sweeps the Kasenyi Plains for lions, leopards, buffalo, and the elegant Uganda kob. After a lodge lunch, board your private boat for the Kazinga Channel sunset cruise. Hippos yawn at arm's length, elephants wade in the shallows, and Marabou storks patrol the banks as your guide pours sundowner drinks on deck—the most romantic hour in Uganda.
Day 5: Ishasha Tree-Climbing Lions & Transfer to Bwindi
Head to the wild Ishasha sector to search for the legendary tree-climbing lions draped in the spreading fig trees. After the search, drive through the dramatic Kigezi Highlands toward Bwindi. Tonight's lodge sits on the park boundary with fire-lit communal areas and a canopy of stars overhead. A private bush dinner is arranged in the garden—lanterns, candles, and the distant calls of the forest.
Day 6: Mountain Gorilla Trekking
The pinnacle of your Ugandan honeymoon. Trek into Bwindi's misty ancient forest with experienced trackers until you locate a habituated gorilla family. The permitted hour sitting metres from silverbacks and playful infants is an experience that bonds you to this land—and to each other—forever. Back at the lodge you receive your gorilla certificates alongside a chilled bottle of sparkling wine laid out by your room attendant.
Day 7: Leisure & Return to Entebbe
A gentle final morning: breakfast with forest views, a final short nature walk, and time to pack memories alongside souvenirs. Your guide transfers you back to Entebbe or Kampala, arriving in time for a late dinner at a lakeside restaurant before your onward flight the following morning.
