Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Entebbe Arrival & Mabamba Swamp Shoot
Arrive in Entebbe and meet your photographer guide. After lunch and an equipment check, head to Mabamba Swamp for an afternoon canoe session targeting the Shoebill—one of Africa's most photogenic and sought-after birds. The soft afternoon light on the papyrus creates a magical backdrop. Return to your lakeside lodge for dinner and an introductory editing session covering RAW workflow and exposure basics.
Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
Depart early and drive north to Murchison Falls National Park. Stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary en route for a walking photography session with habituated southern white rhinos—a rare opportunity for close-range portraits. Continue to Murchison and enjoy a late afternoon golden-hour drive along the river, targeting elephants, giraffes, and dramatic skyscapes.
Day 3: Murchison Falls Full-Day Photography
A pre-dawn departure captures the savannah waking up—lions on the hunt, hippos returning to water, and mist rising from the Nile. Return for brunch, then join the afternoon boat cruise upstream to the falls. This is a masterclass in motion photography: capture the thundering cascade, rainbow spray, and wildlife along the banks. An evening session reviews the day's best shots and covers advanced composition techniques.
Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Drive south through the rift valley to Queen Elizabeth National Park. An afternoon game drive on the Kasenyi Plains targets lions and Uganda kob in beautiful side-lit conditions. End the day at a lodge overlooking the Kazinga Channel—set up tripods on the deck for sunset silhouette shots of hippos and elephants against a golden sky.
Day 5: Kazinga Channel & Ishasha Tree-Climbing Lions
A sunrise shoot from the lodge deck captures waterbirds in flight and mist on the channel. After breakfast, drive to Ishasha for the tree-climbing lions—frame these unique big cats draped over fig branches with dappled light filtering through the canopy. The afternoon Kazinga Channel boat cruise offers eye-level perspectives of hippos, crocodiles, and hundreds of waterbirds. An extended evening editing session covers portfolio curation and storytelling through photo essays.
Day 6: Final Shoot & Return to Entebbe
A final sunrise game drive offers last chances for dramatic light and wildlife action. After breakfast, begin the return drive to Entebbe with a stop at the equator for creative composition exercises. Arrive by late afternoon. Your guide provides a curated selection of the trip's best group images and personalised feedback notes. Transfer to your hotel or the airport.
