Tour Overview
Embark on the adventure of a lifetime deep into the misty highlands of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site sheltering roughly half of the world's remaining mountain gorillas. Led by experienced trackers and park rangers, you will hike through ancient montane forest draped in moss and orchids until you encounter a habituated gorilla family. Spending a magical hour just metres from these magnificent primates—watching silverbacks drum their chests, mothers cradle infants, and juveniles tumble through the undergrowth—is widely regarded as one of Africa's most profound wildlife experiences. This carefully crafted 3-day itinerary pairs the gorilla trek with comfortable lodge accommodation, scenic transfers through Uganda's lush southwestern highlands, and ample time to absorb the sights, sounds, and culture of this remarkable region.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe & Transfer to Bwindi
You will be collected from Entebbe International Airport (or your Kampala hotel) early in the morning and driven southwest through the rolling green countryside. The route passes tea plantations, banana groves, and the dramatic Kigezi Highlands—often called the "Switzerland of Africa." Lunch is taken en route at a scenic stop. Arrive at your lodge near Bwindi Impenetrable National Park by late afternoon, settle in, and enjoy a briefing about the next day's gorilla trek over dinner.
Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking
After an early breakfast, report to the park headquarters for a safety and etiquette briefing by the lead ranger. You will then be assigned a gorilla family and set off into the forest with your tracking team. The hike can last from one to six hours depending on the gorillas' location, traversing dense undergrowth, bamboo thickets, and steep ridges. Once found, you spend a spellbinding hour observing the family at close range—an encounter that leaves most visitors speechless. Return to the trailhead, collect your certificate, and head back to the lodge to celebrate over a well-earned meal.
Day 3: Leisure Morning & Return Transfer
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast with views of the forested hills. Depending on your schedule, there is time for a short nature walk, a visit to the local Batwa community, or some souvenir shopping before beginning the scenic return drive to Entebbe or Kampala. Alternatively, a charter flight can be arranged for a quicker transfer (at additional cost). You will be dropped at your hotel or the airport in time for your onward travel.
