Uganda is a year-round destination, but the best time to visit depends on what you want to see and do. Generally, the dry seasons are the most popular for safaris.
The Dry Seasons (June to August and December to February)
These are the best months for wildlife viewing in Uganda's national parks. During these periods, animals congregate around water holes, making them easier to spot. The vegetation is also thinner, which improves visibility.
For **gorilla trekking** in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, the dry seasons are ideal because the forest trails are less muddy and easier to navigate.
The Wet Seasons (March to May and September to November)
While rain can be more frequent, the wet seasons have their own advantages. The landscape is lush and green, providing stunning backdrops for photography. This is also the best time for **bird watching**, as migratory birds are present.
Some lodges offer discounted rates during the wet seasons, making it a more budget-friendly time to travel.
